Celebrating a Successful 20th Anniversary Gala
On October 9, 2026, Lamp for Haiti celebrated its 20th Anniversary Gala, ANSANM — Together, at Glen Ridge Country Club. Friends, supporters, and partners gathered for a memorable evening honoring two decades of service, partnership, and commitment to improving access to quality healthcare in Haiti.
We are thrilled to announce that we met our gala fundraising goal! This achievement was made possible by the extraordinary generosity of our sponsors, donors, and guests. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this milestone celebration such a success.
The evening also marked the presentation of our inaugural Humanitarian Award to Dr. Barrère Hypolite, Lamp for Haiti’s former In-Country Medical Director, whose 11 years of leadership and dedication helped shape our work. We proudly honored Thomas Mullane with the Lamplighter Award, recognizing his years of volunteer service and unwavering commitment to Lamp for Haiti.
We were honored to welcome Brian Concannon, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti, as our keynote speaker.
While we celebrate reaching our gala fundraising goal, the need for accessible, compassionate healthcare in Haiti remains urgent. There is still much work ahead, and our commitment to the communities we serve remains as strong as ever.

A human rights lawyer and longtime advocate for justice in Haiti, Brian Concannon has spent decades working alongside Haitian advocates to advance human rights, democracy, and accountability. We were honored to welcome Brian Concannon as our keynote speaker for Lamp for Haiti’s 20th Anniversary Gala.

Dr. Barrère Hyppolite
Lamp for Haiti was proud to present its inaugural Humanitarian Award to Dr. Barrère Hypolite at our 20th Anniversary Gala. The award is meant to shine a light on exemplary individuals and groups that are working to improve the lives of people that are in need. The award can be given to anyone working for the benefit of Haiti and Haitians, but we felt that this first award must go to Dr. Barrère Hyppolite, Lamp’s In-Country Medical Director for eleven years.
As Lamp’s In-Country Medical Director, Dr. Hyppolite played an integral role in the formative years of Lamp’s work, demonstrating unwavering dedication to the people of Cité Soleil. His medical expertise, leadership, and commitment have helped shape every aspect of Lamp’s work. Dr. Hyppolite embodies the compassion, service, and commitment to humanity that this award was created to celebrate.
LAMPLIGHTER AWARD
Tom Mullane
The Lamp lighter Award is presented annually to an individual who embodies the spirit of Lamp for Haiti through service, dedication, and a commitment to our mission.
Lamp for Haiti proudly presented the 2026 Lamplighter Award to Tom Mullane, a steadfast supporter and longtime volunteer. Tom has volunteered at Lamp’s annual gala for many years and was instrumental in helping launch the Lamp for Haiti Annual 5K Run/Walk. Each year, he continues to give his time and energy to making both events a success.
Tom’s dedication, generous spirit, sense of humor, and willingness to go above and beyond exemplify what it means to be a Lamplighter.
